Get to know your groomer segment: When, where, and why did you get into dog grooming?
This has been a pretty popular question, especially when I am networking out there.
It all started with my mom and my dad (hahah just kidding). The picture below is the very first #standardpoodle I ever groomed in my life 3+ years ago at The Academy of Animal Arts in Largo. Prior to that I graduated with my Bachelors in Communications from Florida International University in Miami. I followed careers in HR, Payroll, Customer Relations, and Marketing only to realize that my real passion was animals. I decided to go thru a 16 week hands on intensive grooming program taught by Teri Bialek a grooming staple in the industry AKC show groomer and judge for 40 years. I graduated top of my class and went straight into grooming gaining recognition and clients that I’m thankful to still have by my side today. The reason I do what I do is because from the start I knew this is what I was meant to do. I love the animals, love to make them feel better, to build that relationship with them and the clients that become friends. I love to be able to be the second set of eyes that watches out for their overall well being each time they come in. I love to create art, because to me grooming is an art. When dogs leave my shop, they’re a piece of walking art. When people ask “Where does your #dog get groomed?” they’re asking about the artist. I actively stay present attending grooming seminars and trade shows to keep evolving with the industry styles, products, and techniques. I’ve stood next to and learned from grand grooming experts like Jodi Murphy, Joshua Morales, Lindsey Dicken, among others. In short, I am passionate for what I do and I strive to only offer all the #pets I meet and their parents the best #doggrooming experience and service they deserve. Learn more about me:
